Constitution & Governance of New Creation AG Church

A brief guide to the beliefs, governance, and ministries of New Creation AG Church under the Southern District of the South India Assemblies of God.

Article 1: Name

The name of the church shall be New Creation Assemblies of God Church. It shall function under the spiritual and administrative covering of The Southern District of the South India Assemblies of God, and shall operate in accordance with its Constitution and By-laws.

Article 2: Relationship

New Creation AG Church is a local assembly functioning under the Southern District, which is part of the South India Assemblies of God, affiliated with the All India Assemblies of God. The church will adhere to the doctrines, policies, and cooperative efforts set forth by the Constitution and By-laws of the District.

Article 3: Territory

New Creation AG Church is located in  Tamil Nadu. Its ministry will extend to surrounding communities as guided by the Holy Spirit and overseen by the Southern District leadership.

Article 4: Office

The administrative office of New Creation AG Church is located at:

 

All official correspondence and church-related documents shall be handled at this location unless revised by the church leadership.

Article 5: Purpose

The primary purpose of New Creation AG Church is to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19–20; Mark 16:15–20). The church will pursue this purpose through the following means:

 

Section 1: Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Section 2: Establishing a worshiping Pentecostal community in unity with Assemblies of God beliefs.
Section 3: Edifying and encouraging the spiritual growth of believers.
Section 4: Providing Christian fellowship among believers.
Section 5: Training pastors, leaders, and workers.
Section 6: Offering welfare, education, and aid to the underprivileged.
Section 7: Establishing ministries and institutions to support spiritual and social work.

Article 6: Doctrinal Beliefs

New Creation AG Church subscribes to the Statement of Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, including but not limited to:

  • The inspired Word of God

  • The One True God – Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

  • The Deity and Lordship of Jesus Christ

  • The Fall of Man and need for Salvation

  • Salvation through repentance and faith

  • Water Baptism and Holy Communion

  • Baptism in the Holy Spirit with initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues

  • Sanctification and Holy Living

  • The mission of the Church

  • Divine Healing

  • The Blessed Hope: Return of Christ

  • The Millennial Reign of Christ

  • Final Judgment

  • New Heaven and New Earth

Article 7: Governance and Prerogatives

Section 1: Christian Fellowship
The church shall foster spiritual unity and Christian fellowship among members and believers.

Section 2: Evangelism
The church shall actively engage in missionary work and evangelism to win souls and plant new churches.

Section 3: Self-Government
The church shall form its own local committees and conduct member meetings for transparent administration, under the direction of the Southern District.

Section 4: Supervision
The church shall remain accountable to the District Executive Committee in matters of faith, ethics, and church governance.

Section 5: Ministerial Credentials
Pastors and leaders shall meet scriptural and district qualifications for ordination, licensing, or ministry roles.

Section 6: Discipline
All leaders and members shall maintain Christlike character, ethics, and conduct; discipline shall be exercised in line with biblical principles.

Section 7: Departments and Institutions
The church may establish departments such as Sunday School, Youth Ministry, Women’s Fellowship, and charitable institutions to fulfill its mission.

Article 8: Ministries

Section 1: Institutions
The church may establish schools, homes, or training centers under the guidance and approval of the District and its Board of Directors.

Section 2: Ministry Departments
Various ministries may be created including but not limited to:

  • Sunday School

  • Youth Ministry (Christ’s Ambassadors)

  • Women’s Ministry Council

  • Prayer Ministry

  • Outreach/Evangelism Teams
    All departments shall function under church leadership and in harmony with the Southern District.

Article 9: Ministry Qualifications

Subsection A: Salvation – Personal testimony of being born again (John 3:5)
Subsection B: Water Baptism – By immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Subsection C: Baptism in the Holy Spirit – With the evidence of speaking in tongues
Subsection D: Divine Call – Clear call to ministry, spiritual maturity, and commitment to serve full time

Important Ministries

Section 1: Sunday School

  • Operates in partnership with District and Section Sunday School Committees.

  • Has elected roles: Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and Member.

  • Conducts regular classes and events to train children and new believers.

  • 50% of section-level tithes to be forwarded to District.

Section 2: Youth Ministry (Christ’s Ambassadors)

  • Age Group: 14–40 years

  • Activities: Camps, worship nights, outreach programs

  • Elections held biennially, headed by ordained ministers

  • Members must be saved, baptized, and maintain a good testimony

  • Finance: Independent, with transparency and recordkeeping

Section 3: Women’s Ministry Council (WMC)

  • Activities include prayer groups, hospital visits, house visits

  • Elected roles: President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Member

  • Meeting Frequency: Twice monthly at church, quarterly at section, yearly at district

  • Fund Sharing: 25% of section fund forwarded to District WMC

  • Local pastors’ wives are encouraged to lead Women’s Fellowship
